HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR NEW ARTWORK

Caring for Your New Artwork: Tips for Long-lasting Impact Whether it’s an original canvas painting or a beautifully framed print, a little care can go a long way in preserving its look for years to come. Here are some simple tips to help keep your artwork looking as fresh as the day you hung it on the wall.

For Original Canvas Paintings:

Keep it out of direct sunlight
Sunlight can fade the colors of your artwork over time. To maintain the vibrancy of your painting, display it in a space away from direct sun.

Maintain a stable environment
Paintings, like any piece of art, do best in rooms where temperature and humidity remain stable. Avoid hanging your canvas in areas with high moisture, like bathrooms or kitchens, to prevent any warping or damage to the paint.

Dust it regularly
Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently remove any dust from the surface. Avoid using cleaning sprays or water, as these can damage the paint and canvas.

Handle with care
When moving your painting, always handle it by the edges and avoid touching the surface directly. Oils from your hands can transfer onto the canvas and affect the paint over time.

For Framed Prints Behind Glass:

Use a soft cloth for cleaning

Dust or clean the glass regularly with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. If needed, use a gentle glass cleaner applied to the cloth—not directly onto the glass—to prevent any liquid from seeping under the frame.

Avoid extreme temperature changes

Just like with canvas paintings, keeping your print in a stable environment will help preserve its colors and paper quality. Fluctuating temperatures or humidity can cause condensation inside the frame, which could damage the print.

Consider UV-protective glass

If your print is displayed in a room with lots of sunlight, opting for UV-protective glass can help minimize any fading over time. Taking these simple steps will ensure your artwork remains in tip top condition for many years to come.
